We have birthdays in this one! Little Mat turns 10, Phill turns 33, Big Mat turns 32, and Cameo turns 9. Money is still rough but getting a little better. Mom feels lucky to have a great boss. More patent revisions are completed and Mom starts making "Curling Iron Cozies", a small, heat-proof sleeve to put hot curling irons into. Financial stress gets her to the point of temporary insanity. Then she's evicted, loses another cat (2 left), and gets fired.
